Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Bcs tiller carb, no gas to engine

Question
gas goes from tank to float bowl but does not get up into carb

Answer
Probably what you're going to need to do is pull the carb and give it a good cleaning.  You can try spray cleaners but they're only about 50% effective.  Using a soak can of cleaner, available at most auto parts stores, is one of the best ways to do this at home.  You should then rebuild the carb with a new kit.  Also replace the fuel lines and clean out the tank as this is where most of the trash comes from.

What you can try first is to remove the bolt that holds the float bowl on.  If it has holes in the side, then it is a jet and needs to be cleaned thoroughly.  If it is a jet, it will have a tiny hole in the end of it.  This must be clean as this feeds the gas into the venturi.  Use a fine wire or piece of monofilament line to clean it out and some spray carb cleaner.

Let me know if this doesn't help.  Thanks, PK.
