Ray , I have a 89 240 that I stored for about a year and a half, it was running fine except for a slight tranny problem ( O.D. solinoid) now that I have put it back in service it runs fine except it is using way too much fuel, the plugs are carbon/soot covered and I am gettig codes ,221,113 and 213 could it be the injection coolant sensor or O2 sensor?, the milage seems to be in the 8-12 mpg range, The check engine /service light does not come on, thanks Karl
-----Answer-----
Karl,
Coolant switch could cause a rich mixture as could too high fuel pressure a leaking fuel pressure regulator and bad Mass Air flow sensor.

Answer
Karl,
Pressure can not be adjusted, that is the job of the pressure regulator. Try a known good Mass air flow sensor. That is easy to do and will let it be known if that fixes all problems. I say that because there are codes for fuel trim and injectors, that I see many times when the MAF is bad.
