Volvo: Key would not come out of ignition, v70 xc, scan tool

I have a 1999 V70 XC Wagon. I could not get the key out after getting to my destination. I made sure the car was in Park but nothing. I then put it in N and the key came out. Then I could not remotely lock the car and the alarm did not go on. I was able to manually lock the car but the alarm light is not on and therefore the alarm is not on. What is causing this? I am very concerned abotu the key not coming out when in Park.

There has bee a lot of problems with the ignition lock assemblies. It appears that your car also is in need of a new assembly.
For the alarm, you'll need to read any codes in the system and see what signals are missing before you can find the fault. Code reading is done via a scan tool, so a shop that has the scanner or the dealer will be your best choices.
