Volvo: Volvo S60 Tie Rods, volvo s60, rubber boots

Question
I read a post similar to my concern, however the impression I got was that aging tie rods should be replaced.  When I had my 2001 Volvo S60 in to have new tires put on, they recommended replacing one inner and one outer tie rod - does this make sense?  I'm told I should be able to go 150,000 miles until I need to replace, I'm currently at 60,000.

Answer
Ryan,
Mileage is just a "guess", more depends on the roads and the drivers. If the rubber boots over the ends are broken then that will allow moisture and dirt to get in causing wear. I would find a shop that you can trust to inspect and advise properly to what and when things are needed. You would be wise to replace all parts if some wear is found.
