Volvo: s80 purchase, maintance, body style

i am considering purchasing a 1999 s80 2.9. The car has done 170,000km which worries me a bit. I have previously owned a 740 which went forever but i am not sure if the s80 would be as reliable/durable. Can you please advise if this car is worth getting and if so anything i should look for when inspecting the car, any known problems with this model.

The 99 Y/M S80 has had quite a few problems, that being the first year of that body style. Unless you can find out that this car has been trouble free. All maintance has been done along with taking the car to a Volvo tech that will check out the entire vehicle and provide you a report, I would think twice about purchasing it.
