Volvo: Engine Management Light, obd ii, engine management

Hi

This question is not for me but a friend.  He owns I think a 2000 V40 on a Y plate.  His engine management light is constantly on do you know why this is and can he reset it

If the check engine light is on then there is a code in the system and those codes will need to be read and repaired. After the repair has been done the light will be able to be reset. You will need access to a scanner that will attach to the OBD II plug and read those codes, then make the repairs.
