Volvo: 1992 240 brakes seizing, warning lights, master cylinder

Question
ok  i got a 1992 240 wagon  with 100K drove it 2 hours home--took it to my mechanic  got the struts fixed, a new clutch, transmission mount .. started to drive it home from the shop, and the brakes got too hot and seized ... I stopped the car let it cool and it drove back to the shop.. they bled the brakes checked everything,  now it heats up faster, and seizes.  there was tremendous pressure in the brake lines     noone had ever seen it before, and i was wondering if it was the fuses..  the last owner said she put a non volvo fuse in it and some warning lights came on intermittenly...  any ideas   this is a true volvo mystery..  thanks!@!!

Answer
Nick,
The brakes are mechanical and not fused. Fuses do control brake lights and ABS pump. I would replace all the fuses that are questionable. The brakes locking maybe a faulty Master cylinder or calipers. Those parts will require testing or replacement. I just reciently had a 940 that needed a Master, that was doing the same thing.
