Volvo: oil for 1984 Volvo 240 GL, volvo 240 gl, volvo mechanics

What kind of oil should I use for my 1984 Volvo 240? My Volvo and
I now live in southern Mexico - no Volvo mechanics here, and I've
forgotten what my U.S. mechanic told me.

Also how frequently should I change the oil? I drive maybe 3000
miles a year. What about tune-ups and other maintenance. I want
to keep my car going forever. It runs perfectly and the steering and
suspension are great for dirt roads and pot holes.

In the hotest weather use 10w40 oil and in the cooler season 10w30. Change the oil every three months. Have a tune up and check over every 10 to 15 thosuand miles. But check the air filter as often as every 2 or 3 months with all the dust out there.
