Volvo: stumped with 83 volvo, volvo wagon, fuel pumps

i have a 1983 volvo wagon 2.1L turbo,4spd auto/od
i just installed a new prepump and the car ran ok it chokes under full throttle and is hard to start.however, now it wont start at all.it will turn over then start to kick a few times then turn
over again(wirwirwirkickkickwirwir............)
fuel pumps are engaging i can hear the primary working.im kind of thinking distributor or coil.im not very familair with these volvo's.i would apreciate your opinion and advice

Did your problem start just after the pre pump installation? If it did then I would look at the pre pump again. I saw where a pump was installed with the pump wired wrong. That makes the pump run backwards. Also the hose could have a tear in it.
If you do not think that is the case, check for spark and for fuel pressure.
