Volvo: should I buy this volvo?, volvo experience, shape body

I local service station that I deal with has a 1992 240 volvo automatic with 177,000 miles for sale for $2,000. new tires, interior is in very nice shape, body is in great shape, very few dings in the paint and the paint looks good. I've never owned a volvo so I don't know what they are supposed to look like, It seems they have added some type of guage to the dash just in front of the shifter. not sure what it is. Overall it looks nice, although I haven't driven it. any suggestions? should I buy it and what problem areas should I look for? Any help would be great!

Drive the car and see how it feels and how you like the lay out. If those things are good for you have the car inspected top to bottom to see what things need to be taken care of and what shape the reat of the car is in. See if there is someone in the area that has Volvo experience that will give it an inspection.
