Volvo: 95 850 turbo wagon braking vibration, brake calipers, resonant vibrations

Question
Has 195,000 miles. The PROBLEM is a serious vibration and moaning at the end of braking (just before coming to a complete stop). Have replaced the rotors, pads and brake fluid. Have volvo pads on now. Didn't before and still have the problem. Dealership said that the problem was the pads. NOT!! Found a previous expert's answer that it might be the calipers, because aftermarket pads build to much heat. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Answer
DeeDee,
If this noise is coming form the rear, there are special shims that can be used to help stop that moaning and vibration. Get these shims from the dealer.
New shims to minimize resonance vibrations, rear

If a customer complains of resonant vibrations from the rear of the car when braking at low speed (frequently when the brake discs are hot after repeated braking), the problem can be fixed by replacing the shims. A kit with a new type of shim has been produced for the rear brake calipers. The kit has P/N 272272-6 (kit contains 4 shims).

(Resonant vibrations are experienced usually when the car has new rear brake discs/pads).
