Question
i own a 96 volvo the abs warning light comes on when in the start position what may the faulty part. also the petrol light is permanently on and just by chance would you know how long it would take someone to replace the head gasket who has experience but has not done one to my 96 850 2.5

Answer
John,
ABS light on in the start position is ok. Does it stay on? If so you need to read the codes and see what they are. Repair the faults and the light goes out. There is a high failure rate associated with the ABS control unit.
A low fuel light on all the time is either the gauge or the sending unit, some testing will have to be done to tell what part(s) will have to be replaced.
To repalce the head gasket having all the special tools and the right knowlege will be a full eight to ten hours not counting any time the head will spend in the machine shop.
