Volvo: AC Recharge 99 Volvo S70, ac recharge, volvo s70

Question
Ray,
I recharged my AC myself using 134a Refrigerent+oil. I used the majority of the bottle. The AC appears to be blowing "mildly" cold air but not too cold. Any suggestions on how to remedy the problem. Should I buy more refrigerent or is there anything else I should do?

Answer
Phil,
What works well is having a shop that can recycle the refrigerant that is in there and and then evacuate and recharge it. It is very important that the correct amount of freon is in the system and the only way that can be done is completly recycle the freon in there and recharge it with a properly measured amount. If you feel "brave" try some more of the refrigerent you used and see how that works. Please keep in mind that a completly charges system only uses 1.63 lbs, and it's not easy to get the right amount with cans. It is also always better to have the system evacuated to rid it of contaminates.
