Volvo: Hi Ray, can I replace my s80s battery myself?, 12v battery, sam sam

Hi Ray,
My s80 2.9 suddenly stoped working this morning, and I'm pretty sure it is the problem of the battery. I was try have someone start my car by connecting the cable to his; however, it just didn't work. Does it mean the battery definitely gone? If it's gone,can I replace it with any 12V battery?

There are things other that the battery that will cause the car not to start. But if you are sure that the battery is bad, replace it it's in the trunk. Be careful disconnect the negitive cable first and reconnect it last. Replace the protective cover so nothing shorts out.
