Volvo: volvo 850 wagon 1996, volvo 850 wagon, volvo 850

Question
I am interested in buying a 1996 volvo 850 wagon.  There is minor body damage to the side of the car and the a/c does not work.  The seller said there's a freon leak.  What should I expect to pay to fix the problem?
Thank you!!!

Answer
Brooke,
Because you do not know where that freon leak is, it could run into money. I have seen A/C hoses leak, a relatively inexpensive ($250.00) to the evaporator leak that is expensive ($1000.00). So that being the case you need to have the car checked and a diagnosis made so that you know the expense that you are going to have. The compressors also have a failure rate and they also get costly ($800.00).
