Volvo: volvo v70 turbo, mass air flow sensor, mass air flow

Question
I have a 2001 volvo v70t. Right after we bought it(about 2 monts ago) we noticed that sometimes it would turn over but not fire up. I would have to try like 2 or 3 times for it to start. It still does it occasionally. Now the check engine light came on with code 1171 manufacturing control fuel air metering.  Are the two related and can you give me an idea of what needs to be replaced? And how much does the repair usually run?  Thanks

Answer
Marisela,
I would clear the code and drive the car for a while and see if it (code) comes back. Also notice when you drive how well it runs and is the power the same? I think that the MAF is beginning to fail. Many times I see fuel trim codes all by themselves, and the cure is the MAF. Mass Air Flow sensor. MAF and labor $400 or so depending on the labor rate.
