Volvo: Radko Code, sarah halliday, 1992 volvo 960

Hello there,

I have a 1992 Volvo 960.  VIN# YV1KW950N0008583.
Had a new started put in.   Mechanic disconnected battery for installation.  Radio is asking me for code.  I am not the original owner.  The original owner is dead, and his wife has no idea where the code is, or what I'm talking about!  Any ideas? I've searched the internet (still at the beginning stages of my search) and have come up empty so far...

If the radio is original to the car you can call a Volvo dealer and give them the VIN number and with that they will be able to get you the radio code. Now if the radio is not the original then you will need the the Radio number off the face plate and part number along with the serial number. Those numbers are found on the top of the radio as you pull it out.
