Volvo: Volvo S40 does not start, s40 volvo, clutch pedal


Question
First,sorry about my english, I hope you could help me, 'cause I'm very sad
about this problem, I have a S40 volvo 2000 and all is perfect with this except
that this is the third time I cannot start it,
When I turn on the car, all works, all the lights turn on, all the electric works,
but I can't get the machine start, the first and second time it ocurred, a few
hours later, I got start the car, but today is an horror, after 12 hours I cannot
get sart it.
A friend told me that maybe the alarm cause that, but i don't know wthat can
i do.

Hector,
If the alarm is the fault try to cycle the key in the left front door lock to turn it off. Have the power train management code(s) read and see if that leads any place. If the car is an Automatic try to move the lever back and forth a few times. If you have a stick make sure the clutch pedal is all the way down so it activates the switch that will allow it to crank over.
