Volvo: Volvo 940 RH Corner Light - Generic Replacement Issue, volvo 940, fog lights

Question
I bought an after-market replacement for my 1994 940 RH Corner Light.  It was listed as fitting 740, 940, & 960 series (with integrated fog lights).  It arrived with a different set of connections from my OEM light.  My OEM light has female connectors on the light housing.  This light has male prongs.  I tried making the top male prong go either to the right or left of the top 940-chassis prong with little success.  Should I just cut it off?  There are other differences in the after-market unit which suggests it was meant to be a compromise to be adapted in different ways  to differences in the series.

Answer
Ken,
There are some small differences in the after market lens, but not enought to have to cut and add wire connectors. Is it possible to just use your bulb holder and put that into the new light that you have? Also check carefully that you in fact have the right part.
