Volvo: Brake lights, brake light switch, volvo dealer

Question
I own a 1989 volvo 240 in which the brake lights are not working.I have changed the fuses and all other lights are on,but no brake lights,help!!

make sure you use bronze or copper fuses (not silver colored ones-aluminum-the volvo dealer will have these-regular auto parts stores will not-but this is probably not your problem since theres a different fuse for left and right brake lights, it might be the brake light switch - activated by the brake pedal
