Volvo: 1984 244 DL air control valve, vacuum leaks, air control valve

Question
My car is idling at 1500-1600 RPM at idle. Can I replace the air control valve by pulling off the hoses and unplugging the wiring harness? Or do I have to pull the manifold? Is there a Bracket or other device holding the valve in place? Thanks, Bob.
PS I replaced the wiring harness without pulling the manifold.

Answer
You can replace the control valve by just disconnecting it from the air tubes and unplugging the wire harness.  The unit comes out by itself, about the size of a large apple.  Those usually don't cause high idles though, so I would also check for vacuum leaks while you're under the hood.
