Volvo: 850 turbo wagon electrical problem, dashboard lights, rear hatch

Question
Our 1995 850 turbo wagon (166K miles) has developed an intermittent electrical problem that two dealers have been unable to find or duplicate.

It starts and runs fine, then all of a sudden, you turn the car off and then the door locks start going up and down.
You touch the breaks and the door locks click up and down.
You put the key in the ignition and try to start the car and all the dashboard lights are on dimly and the car doors lock and the car will not start. You can pull all the fuses from under the hood and the same thing happens.  When you turn the ignition off the doors unlock.

This can last for days and then miraculously when it gets towed to the dealership, it starts right up.

The first dealer replaced the rear hatch harness and said that was it.
The second dealer put in a new battery (less than one year old - free of charge) and adjusted the glove box saying the battery was dead and there was a draw from the glove box.

HELP!

Answer
Hello! That problem is very tough to diagnose without looking at the car. I would have to ask you to give me more info. Is there any alarm system installed? Aftermarket or factory. What other repair work has been done? The more ifo I have the better I can help you.
