Volvo: 1991 240 SW service light, sw service, light thanks

Question
After an oil change, the mechanic didn't reset the service light. I know you can turn it off by pushing something long and thin into the "hole" on the right of the speedometer cluster but I can't remember the trick. Turn the key how far? Hold it in how long? I didn't use the Volvo place this time and the mechanic didn't know how to reset the light. Thanks for your help.

Answer
I don't know how much it changed with newer 240's, but on the earlier models, there was a small black cable running from the back of the speedometer to a small black box that sort of hung down (the cable was only about 6 inches long).  There was a small button you could press which would reset the light on the dash on the side of the smaller box.  If this is in fact, not the case with your 91, I'm going to refer you to www.brickboard.com, where you can post a question for free in the 240 section and get responses from owners who have the 91 model.  Good luck!
