Volvo: Ignition coil, electrical contacts, blazes

Question
I have a 79 Volvo 242GT.  Engine is totally rebuilt a few years ago.  Runs great.  Lately there has been a problem with the coil running extremly hot.  It is too hot to the touch.  Coil is new. In the winter it runs fine and now in the summer too darn hot. I am at a loss.  Can you help?  Thanks

Answer
Generally, coils will run very hot, especially in the summer time.  Unless you are noticing another problem (misfiring, incomplete spark to the distributorm, etc), or the coil plastic is beginning to melt or bubble (especially around the electrical contacts), I wouldn't worry about it.  I know mine gets hotter than blazes too, and I've never had an issue with it.
