Volvo: 88 740 GLE power antenna not working, power antenna mast, dash light

Question
My car is , as I type, in the shop for a few issues. One of them is to replace the power antenna mast (and cable) which I purchased online. The service writer just called to say that there is problem. He said that when I had the original radio removed in order to install a CD changer/radio that it affected the power antenna. He said that the only way the power antenna will work is if I have the original radio re-installed. Is this true? The guys at Best Buy, who installed the new unit, said I didn't need the additional "hook up" for the power antenna, and that it worked. The reason I am having this one put in is because I went through a car wash (dumb) and it ripped the antenna right off the base. Is there a way to have the power antenna working with an aftermarket audio unit installed?
Oh, now they are saying that the new tailight lens assembly I bought online to have them install does not have the "ground" which turns the dash light off?

Answer
Hello Jamie! The antenna should still work fine. There should be no reason why they cannot install the new mast unless the antenna motor is broken. With the tailight, I have noticed that some aftermarket lights do not come with the right circuit board. I would check with the company you bought it from to make sure it is correct.
