Volvo: 1993 volvo 850 - flashing dashlights, volvo specialist, independent volvo

Question
my 850 has started to flash the low fuel and service engine lights simultaneously. I cannot pull a code on terminal 7 - it just flashes rapidly. The engine surges as well and the fuel and temp gauges do not register and the spedometer and tach only marginally. I replaced the electrical portion of the ignition switch but that did not help. It is intermitent because I reached under the dash trying to get to the relays (the panel with the seat belt chime, central lock, etc) and it stopped for a day or 2 and then came back. The grounds have been cleaned. The blinker fuse has also started to blow. Any clues? Is there any other relays that I am missing? I am about 100 miles from a dealer. Thanks for any help you can give

Answer
Hello Henry! It sounds like you may have a problem with the instrument panel circuit board. It may need to be replaced. The only true way to tell is with the proper tools. You will have to visit a dealer or an independent Volvo specialist.
