Volvo: 95 850 turbo question, crankcase pressure, pcv system

Question
I have actually 2 questions:

1. I have been told that an 850 turbo should have the PCV system cleaned every couple of years. I wanted to know whats involved and what is your charge to get the system cleaned and what parts usually get replaced during this pCV maintaince.

2. I also have Read Main leak and that I have been told usually caused by crankcase pressure buildup or not maintaining the PCV system. Do you fix the the RMS and what is the cost to get the RMS replaced and what other parts usually replaced while replacing the rms.

thanks

Answer
Hello Ken! If the pcv system is clogged, it is best to replace the breather box and the hoses. The intake manifold would need to be removed to access it. It should cost around $300 to replaced the needed parts.
I would not replace the rear main seal until the breather box has been replaced or you run the risk of the seal leaking again. The cost of the seal replacement usually runs areoun $750. Kepp in mind that these prices may vary between shops depending on labor rates and parts prices.
