Question
I hit a huge pothole after which ABS light came on then brake light came on.  Had brakes checked they were fine. Drove 1 1/2 hours to a dealer, paid $80 for ABS diagnostic was told I need ABS control module ($900.) When I asked to see the read out the only thing listed was the right sensor was faulty.  This was the side that went into the huge pothole.  Now ABS light is usually on at start up then TRACS light after the self diagnostic.  Brake warning light comes on after car is up to temperature sometimes, this is becoming more frequent.  Help me please.

Answer
Hello! I would get a sencond opinion. It souds like there was some damage done by the pothole. If the only fault stored is with the right sensor, I would start by replacing it and checking the rest of the supsension thouroughly. The ABS module could be at fault and is a common problem. But, you may have other problems that need attention. Find another Volvo dealer or a Volvo specialist ASAP. Get another look. It seems like the dealer you went to made the wrong diagnosis.
