Volvo: Insrument Cluster on 89 240 DL, fuel gauge, t cross

I recently uninstalled my insrument cluster to see why the odometer was not working, everything else in the cluster worked but the odometer. I then reinstalled the cluster, the same way I uninstalled it, and now none of the gauges work, ie speedometer, fuel gauge and temp. gauge. Also the overdrive light stays on constantly and after a few minutes, the battery light comes on and stays on. I have checked the fuses and all are good. Did my cluster, all of a sudden, go bad after I uninstalled it? What could possibly be the problem. Thanks, Mike.

You almost certainly fouled something up while reconnecting it.  Generally when they go bad, it will be a gauge at a time, unless you did something really horrible, like crack the circuit board itself on the back of the cluster.  I would check again to make sure you didn't cross any wires.  Also check that you didn't pull too hard on those wires from the other end, you could have crossed, or disconnected wires further down in the harness than you can see.  Good luck!
