Volvo: 1970 Volvo 1800E, vin number, carburetor

Question
I am thinking of buying this as a project or "fix-up" car.  Don't mind some work, but I'm worried about one thing:  This car has a carburetor on it and I think all USA 1970 model 1800's were fuel injected.  Is that so? If it is, I want to stay away from a car that's been butchered. Thanks.
PS -- I think the "E" at the end of the model designator referred to FI, and this car definitely has an "1800E" badge on it.

Answer
Hello Allen! That car should be fuel injected. It sounds like someone has been messing around. Although, it could be a Canadian built car. What type of carb is it? Zenith or SU or Weber? Is there 1 or 2 carbs? If you have the VIN number of the car that should tell you where the car was made.
