Volvo: volvo, generic joe, volvo dealer

Question
I bought and now drive a 92 volvo 960 which is running roughly. I have been told that it needs a diagnostic tune up. Must I go to a Volvo dealer?

Answer
You don't have to take it to a dealer, but I would recommend taking it to a garage that specializes in European cars, perferrably one that specializes in Volvos.  They'll know all the little nuances of these cars, and in the end, even if you have to pay a little more then a generic joe garage, it will pay for itself with fewer overall visits, and quicker solutions to problems.  If you're comfortable with doing a few things yourself, I would suggest replacing the spark plugs, check the timing, and run a bottle of fuel injector through the system before you take it in to see if that helps your problem.  Good luck!
