Volvo: 1984 volvo wont run, timming belt, one at a time

Question
I have recently aquired a 1984 Volvo vin yv1ax8841e1004057 I beleive it is a 240 although there are no identification marks I can see. The car, when started will run smoothly for about 2 seconds and shut off. I can hold the gas pedal all the way down, pump it or not even touch it and it makes no diference. I have replace plugs, wires, dist. cap and rotar button to no avail, I checked the timming belt and all is in order. Could this be a fuel related prob? Car is Fuel injected and I can hear the pump when key is turned on. Any help would be appreciated.

Answer
I would start with the basics on this one, because right now it seems like it could be spark or fuel.  While cranking and starting the car, pull one of the plugs out and see if you get a spark, even after the engine starts.  If you get a spark consistently, then move to fuel.  Pull the injectors one at a time and make sure you are getting fuel the entire time.  If one of these systems fail, then trace it back through it's respective system.  Good luck!
