Volvo: Dead Volvo, volvo 940, battery cables

Question
I love my 1994 Volvo 940.  I parked it in my garage over the Thanksgiving holiday and returning a couple days later when I tried to start it up the car was dead.  Not even a dim light in the dome light.  I tried using my battery charger but that didn't seem to make a difference.  I just dropped in a new battery from WalMart (only place open) and no joy.  I checked the fuses and the main fuse is fine.

The temp dropped to the mid 30s.  I don't know how old the battery is as I've had the car about 2½ years and I've not replaced it.  What do you suggest?

Thanks.

Karl

Answer
Hello Karl! You say you put a new battery in but then you say that you don't know how old the battery is. I'm a little confused. Is there a new battery in the car? If so, there could be a problem with the battery cables. I would check the connecttion at the battry for corrosion. Also, check the ground cable at the engine block.
