Volvo: 850 turbo dash service light, obd ii code reader, obd ii code

Question
The service light just started coming on but when I drive, after awhile it will go off. I have a OBD II code reader which I have used to try and erase the service light code but that doesn't do the job. Is there a hidden button or switch some where that I can shut this light off. Thank You, Fred

Answer
There is usually a module hidden under the steering wheel among the mess of wires.  This module will have some sort of tie to the odometer, and will trigger the light when it clicks over to 30K or whatever the preset mileage might be.  There is usually a button on the module that resets it.

If you do reset it and the light still comes on, that usually means another malfunction is triggering it and you'll have to track down and replace the part before the light will go off.
