Volvo: stalling (cuts off), crankshaft sensor, fuel pump relay

Question
My Volvo 850 94 is stalling (cutting off) when i come to a stop or if the car is idling for a little while. I just spent $660 to change the speed sensor, camshaft sensor, and crankshaft sensor to no avail. What could be the next possible error? The mechanic did a diagnostic and said these things came up as errors. He told me if the above parts don't solve the problem he will change the lock converter in the transmission. What is causing the car to stall while it is idling? It does start pretty good (no problem) after it stalls. Is it the fuel pump relay? I read that this can cause the problem. Today 09/03/04 He came up with a code 1-2-2 and is saying the Solenoid (S1)in the transimission is faulty and causing the problem. could that cause the car to stall while slowing down.
Thank You

Answer
Hello! The first thing I would do is find another mechanic who knows Volvo. Although, there are many things that can cause that problem, I would start with the fuel pump and the relay. The S1 solonoid code in the trans will not make the car shut off. It may cause the car to shift funny. I hope this info helps.
