Volvo: Volvo tranny service S70, 4 quarts, drain plug

Question
Hi, I just got a 2000 S-70 with auto trans. 49000 miles. It was crashed and I fixed it up perfect. Front end damage only. I went to have the trans. serviced, my tranny man said the oil was very muddy, he couldn't drain much of it, nor no filter. He said he could only get about 3.5 quarts out to replace. Holds 9. Is there a trick to this? Can it be drained & serviced and screen or filter checked, changed? We are a little stumped by this....Thanks for any help.

Answer
Hello Bob! You will only get about 4 quarts out of the drain plug. If you want to flush it, you would need to remove a cooling line and run the car. I wouldn't recommend doing that though. It is best to just drain and refill. There is no screen to replace. I hope this info helps.
