Volvo: ABS/Odometer, proper diagnosis, abs sensor

Question
I have a 97 850 T5.
1. The ABS light comes on intermittently and sometimes there is a buzzing sound which I feel from the brakes as it adjusts. How hard is it
to replace the ABS sensor?
2. My odometer and the distance meter above are both stopped. I pushed the distance meter to clear it to zero and both have not worked since.
Can I buy new meters and replace them myself or is this a shop job?

Answer
Hello Eric! The ABS and speedo problem may be one in the same. There is a Speed sensor that sends a signal to the speedo and ABS control module. It is best to get the car to a qualified Volvo technician for a proper diagnosis. There are many components and sensors for the ABS system. It is best not to guess. There is a special scan tool needed to read the faults stored in the system. Those fault codes will point you in the right direction.
