Volvo: Volvo 1994 940 turbo, fuel pressure regulator, air leaks

Question
1994 940 turbo - Was running great and then suddenly, while driving lost all power and engine died. Tried to restart and would finally start after cranking for a time. When started it dies soon after being started as if it was not receiving fuel and dies immediately if throtled. Runs irregular when started, no power at all, dies easily. When I unplug the air mass meter it starts easily snd idles smooth and dies when throttled. When I plug in the air mass meter (while it is idling)it immedeitely dies. I have tryed two new air mass meters with no difference in performance. I have searched for induction air leaks; cannot find any. I have checked both fuel pumps; both working fine. I have changed out fuel pressure regulator; no difference in performance. I have checked to see if catalynic converter was cloged; it is fine. I have checked all fuses; all OK. All relays seem to be working properly. It shows the classic signs of a bad air mass meter or an induction air leak but it must be some other issue. Im stumped.

Answer
Hey Andy! There may be a problem in the fuel pump. I know it may appeaer to be working fine, but it may not be delivering the right amount of fuel. Also, there could be an internal fault in the fuel system control module. I hope this info helps.
