Volvo: 1992 Volvo 240, service reminder, 1992 volvo 240

Question
My "service" light has been popping on for the last 3 days when I first start the car. Then, it goes off after about a mile.  About a week ago, I put oil and coolant in.  I change the oil regularly, etc. 162K miles. Car has been well maintained, I have only owned it since 153K miles.  Is this a pre-programmed light to get you to go into the dealership or is it something I should be concerned about?

Answer
Hello Wendy! That is a service reminder light. It is programmed to come on every 5,000 miles. To reset it, there is a small button on the right side of the instrument panel that needs to be pushed in. You may need a small pick or a screwdriver to do it. I hope this info helps. I'll be here if you need me!
