Driving & Driving Test Tips: MD driving test, residential streets, driving test

Question
Can you tell me how large the "box" is which is used to test for a correct 3-point turn on the MD driving test?  My daughter is preparing to take her road test and we don't know how large an area to create to give her adequate practice for this element of the road test.

Answer
I do not know the measurements of the "box" used in MD for testing but I would suspect that they use the width of a 36-40' wide street for the exemplar, in that this is a standard width for city residential streets. one should be4 able to do a 3 pt turn in such a street.

It is really an easy technique, crank the wheel full to the left and drive to the curb (don't hit it if possible), crank the wheel as far as possible to the right and back up to the rear curb (again try not to hit it) and then crank it as far as possible to the left and drive forward the opposite direction and adjust as you go into the driving lane.
