How fast does the car go without using the accelerator?

OK, I  will tackle this one, why not just find a good deserted area and put the car in gear and see?

It depends on gearing, and the idle speed.  With a manual tranny, you can go faster if you can get the car into a higher gear than first without killing it as you take off (keeping off the accelerator as part of our little 'test'.)

An automatic should not shift out of first gear at idle, but I would guess on flat and level terrain, that most cars would go about 10 mph?  I haven't tried this myself.
