4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: Land Rover Dash message


Question
Hi,

I have a new message appearing in the screen behind the steering wheel.  "DPF full" see manual.  What does this mean?
There is nothing in the manual.
the car is a Discovery 3 Landrover made in 2009

If you're cursed with a DPF, the exact procedure to follow after DPF FULL (diesel particulate filter) should be outlined in the back of the manual...

As detailed in the Owners Handbook, the driver should drive the vehicle until the engine is at its normal operating temperature and then drive for a further 20 minutes minimum, at speeds of not less than 30 mph (48 km/h). Successful regeneration of the DPF is indicated to the driver by the 'DPF FULL' message no longer being displayed.

DPF equiped vehicles do not like small trips.
