Nissan Repair: 1991 nissan pickup starting problem, clutch pedal, nissan pickup

Question
HI Von!
I hope you can help me. When I turn my key, sometimes the engine will crank, and sometimes it takes several minutes to crank. You can hear the relays clicking for a few seconds, then you cannot hear anything (though it has started if I continue to hold the key in start mode). I have had the starter and battery replaced. I replaced the starter relay today-no improvement. I have the clutch fully depressed when I turn they key.
What now?
Thanks!

Answer
Rick,

Hard wire around the clutch safety switch on the clutch pedal and see if that does the trick.  The switch is under the dash where the clutch pedal arm goes up to the pivot point.  There is a stop that the pedal arm rests against when you are not pressing it.  The switch will be there.  wire around it to see if this does the trick.  if it does repalce and adjust the swtich.  You do not want to leave it wired around for fear that someone would start he truck in gear and it would take off and hurt someone.
