4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: Radiator fan not working

Question
i have a 2001 Honda CR-V and the radiator fan has stopped working I've replaces the temperature sensor the top hose gets hot and the bottom hose stays cool the AC works and the AC fan works but even with the AC on the radiator fan still does not come on and the vehicle overheats

Answer
Casey,

Some of the possibilities are:  Fan relay, fuse, wiring, or the fan motor itself.  The easiest way to check this, is with a test light or voltmeter.

Check the wiring at the fan to see if there is power (12 volts) going to the fan when the motor is up to operating temperature. If there is, then it would be a bad fan motor.  If there is no voltage going to the fan, then you will need to trace out the wiring, and check out the components that I listed.

You can also test the fan by jumping the positive wire to the fan and see if it powers on.  If it does, then the fan motor is ok.
