4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: 2002 dodge 1500 dome lights, 2002 dodge 1500, dome light

I recently purchased Recon truck lights for my running boards and would like to hook up the white LED lights to my dome light so they operate when doors open. I found the red/yellow wire, but it is powered at all times, is there another connection I should use? the truck is a 4WD 1500 Ram SLT, regular cab.

I would purchase a repair manual for the Dodge.  It should have the wiring diagrams that you would need to find out which wire you would need to patch into.  More than likely, you are going to have to splice into the door switch itself.
