4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: YJ Wrangler and Dana 44, yj wrangler, wrangler yj

Hi Matt,

I have a 92 Wrangler YJ 4.0 HO. It has the stock axels which I assume are Dana 30's. I would like to go with larger wheels/tires and I have been told that the stock axel is too weak. Without breaking the bank is there a Junk option? Like a ford Blazer like someone suggested? Somehow I suspect it isn't as easy as finding an old Blazer and salvaging the pumpkins and axels. This is too big a question for a easy reply, But where do I go to figure this out?

it just all depends on ho BIG you are going. If you are not going over 33 inch tires have no fear. Plenty of Jeep guys have lifted trail rigs with stock axles under them and haven't gone radical like people are insinuating to you. How big of a lift and tires are you wanting to go and I can make a better suggestion
