4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: atv, carbon buildup, autolite

Question
my atv sometimes starts on the first try and then a while later it will die out and not start again for a couple of days. I checked the fuel line and not dirt, the gas is new. I did notice that once there was some oil on the spark plug..Any suggestions??

Answer
I am not an ATV expert but the presence of oil on the plug can be fouling the spark plug out causing it not to spark correctly. Sometimes carbon buildup on the plug also looks to be oil so it may not be oil at all. I would try changing the plug and buy a good one like autolite or splitfire. These tend to last longer than others
