4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: 98 Toyota 4 Runner, chip problem, cam sensor

Question
My truck started off trying to idle out & stall, If i reved the engine then it would eventually stop and run fine brought it to the garage and they have tried fixing the plug wires worked fine temporarily but started acting like it suckin in air somewhere and stalled again. They said fuel intake and battery were ok and it might be a computer chip problem but were unsure still at this point without it being hooked up to a computer. They have had it for a day n still nothing.. Any ideas?

Answer
At this point it could be many things. The best way to eliminate thigs though is to do what they are doing with the computer connected to it to watch the peramiters to see where the fault is. I personally would lean more towards the ignition system concerning the ignition module or the distributor/ coil packs. Also a sensor may be going bad causing the issue, maybe the crank or cam sensor
