4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: Trying to get at abs sensor, chevy k1500, brake rotor

Question
Hi there I am tring to get to the ABS sensor on a 98 Chevy k1500 4x4 in the front and can not figure out how to get the hub assembly off to get at the gaurd. I removed the center nut and have tried to pull it off but have had no success. How can I get the hub off to get at the splash gaurd to get that off?

Answer
Troy,

there will be another nut inside the hub assembly itself. There is a special socket needed most times to complete this repair at your auto parts store. It will most likely look like a metal ring with some notches in it or holes. Once you have the nut off of the threaded part(axle) there will be another nut inside that has to be taken off to remove the hub or brake rotor. I will do some more investigating on it in the morning and try to get you a better answer then but I hope this helps so far

Thanks
Matt
