4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: 83 f250 4x4 dual tank pumps and relay switch, tank pumps, gas gauge

Question
QUESTION: I lost my rear tank and front can start cutting out.  It clears when I switch to rear tank then back again to front tank.  I'm also having problems finding affordable replacements.  I think its the rear pump that went out because gauge switches to rear.  Thanks for anything you may be able to suggest.

ANSWER: Can you please explain this a little more? Im having trouble understanding whats going on here. Thanks.

QUESTION: OK, I'll try to explain.  My rear tank stopped working a couple months ago.  When I switch from front to rear.  The gas gauge changes tanks, but no gas gets pumped and the engine dies.  Recently, while driving on the front tank. The truck starts to cut out.  I switch to the non working rear tank and back again.  The cutting out stops and truck runs fine.  This doesn't happen alot but I'm afraid its going to get worse.  I have yet to check wiring to pump.  It was suggested that its the pump, not the relay because it appears to be switching.  Can you point me in a direction of a parts house that might have pumps and relays for my great old truck.  Thanks.  I hope this is a little better explanation.

Answer
Oh ok, I get it. Sorry. You can find your parts at any local autoparts store. If you dont have a local autoparts store you can try www.autozone.com or www.advanceautoparts.com normally either of those have just about any parts you may need. Glad I could help you.
